Simchat Torah: Opening to Newness!
THIS SUNDAY EVENING...
October 11th ~ 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
with Lisa Kaye & Justine Halliwill
at the Center for Spiritual Living
390 Vernal, Eugene
(cross streets Coburg Rd/Rustic Pl, east of Blockbusters)
Come Celebrate With Us!!!
"Whatever you find here in Torah is also inside you. This is the map. You are the landscape."
Rabbi Shefa Gold
Rabbi Seidel had to cancel participating with us at the last minute but Rabbi Shefa Gold came to the rescue and together with Lisa Kaye helped design a renewal-focused celebration filled with chanting, singing, dancing and an invitation to experience TORAH in a new and personal way.
Justine Halliwill will co-lead the chanting and add her creative spark to the celebration including drumming to help raise the sparks of celebration for each of us!
Torah is not just a static scroll of the first five books of the old testament. "Torah" can be translated from Hebrew as 'learning, or instruction'. Rabbi Shefa says that the Torah scroll is just a 'mirror', that the 'real Torah' is the Torah of our lives. So come explore the landscape of YOUR Torah, your truths, your learnings and celebrate the process of completion and new beginnings.
On Simchat Torah we literally roll-back the Torah to start again. What in your life do you need to roll back? Where do your new beginnings need to start? Torah gives us that opportunity every year and Simchat Torah is the point of transition from completion to beginning anew.
Be there when it happens. Be ready with us to step into the newness of Torah all over again!
Donations accepted.
Everyone welcome whatever your spiritual path.
See you this Sunday evening at 6:30 pm!
Lisa Kaye & Justine Halliwill
P.S. We thank Rabbi Hanan Sills and congregation Ad Olam for offering to share their Torah with us for this Simchat Torah celebration!

About the Jewish Renewal-Style events at the Center for Spiritual Living...
This is a 'meta-Jewish' experience that is open to all! Come enter the space with your hearts and souls open -- open to hearing and feeling spirit in a new way; partly Jewish, partly metaphysical, but wholly spiritual.
There is no charge for the gatherings but donations are appreciated if you would like to support more programs like this. Families with children who are interested in a meditative environment are welcome to attend.
