Jewish Movement Meditation awakens the body’s own capacity for self-transformation. With music, sound, and breath, we use techniques of Jewish meditation to invoke the internal genius of the body’s living waters—the mayyim chayyim—and their power of self-renewal. Join us as we dive into the sacred waters of life to restore health, build core strength, and listen in together to the wisdom of the body. We will work on the floor individually, but together, in comfortable clothing without zippers or buttons. No special experience, strength level, or movement training is necessary. But it is important to form the safe space of a working group or community. This is an ongoing practice group. Newcomers are invited to join at the start of each 4 week period.
Evlyn Gould holds a M.A. and a Ph.D. in French Literature and a CAS Distinguished Professorship at the University of Oregon as well as B.A. degrees in French and Dance. She has trained for 30 years in classical dance and has worked for five years in Continuum Movement.

Working with the brilliant teachings of Rabbi Moshe Chayim Luzzato (Ramchal), we’ll explore key Kabbalistic concepts such as Contracting the Self, Enumerations (how & through what G!d consistently reveals G!d’s Self/ the Sephirot), Good & Evil, and more. We’ll consider how these key concepts can and do play an active part in our daily lives, as we dwell in G!d’s Compassionate Tent.
It’s EZ too! Classes will take place online, through 1-hour video recordings sent directly to your inbox on Thursday at noon. After you’ve had a chance to listen, wonder and listen again, please submit questions by Monday so that answers to your question(s) may be included in Thursday’s video session.

The Soul of the Heart Sacred Circle combines Hellinger's Systemic Constellation Work and sacred ceremony. It is an experiential process, working at a deep soul level. This heart-based approach brings more immediate and lasting impact than techniques that address the mind alone. Through constellation work, we uncover hidden generational dynamics which create obstacles that prevent us from living our lives well. Shifts occur on a systemic level so that we can experience the natural flow of love, strength and support within our lives.

Songwriter Showcase
with Brook Adams, Rob Tobias and Ben Bochner
Friday, February 10, at 7:30pm
at Tsunami Books,
2585 Willamette St., Eugene, OR 97440
$3-5 cover
A showcase of local songwriters will be presented at Tsunami Books on Friday, February 10th at Tsunami Books at 7:30pm. There will be a $3-5 cover at the door. This is the first of a monthly series of concerts that will focus on songwriters. The three songwriters, Brook Adams, Rob Tobias, and Ben Bochner have all been writing songs and living in the Eugene area for many years. The evening will begin with short sets from each of the performers an then move into a songwriter in the round format with songwriters trading songs and singing and playing along.
Brook Adams is the sound of smart pop music. His emotional songwriting and soulful whiskey voice evoke a timeless groove where the sounds of Bakersfield, New Orleans and the motor city coalesce. He's a skilled player on guitar and uke, with Django, Zappa and even Sousa in his trick bag. The CD, The Fountain Of Love At The Heart Of The World, is his first collection of all original music. Described in the Eugene Register Guard (May, 2011) as "Light and Bright", these songs explore the idea that people are basically good, and that in every heart there is a source of strength, courage and love. More at: www.brookadams.com
Rob Tobias writes and plays roots music inspired by the great songwriters of the 60s and 70s while also exploring sing-along and spiritual styles. Rob sings, plays piano, guitar, uke, harmonica, and percussion. His songs have been used in theatre projects, video productions, Jewish Renewal and Interfaith services, and as part of sustainability, and peace and non-violence conferences. The Register Guard review of his 6th CD, The Northwest Express (2011) said, "If the Northwest has a little of all the good stuff, Tobias’ own songwriting mirrors that diversity. His blended style samples from jazz, blues, reggae, folk and rock." More at: robtobias.com, thenorthwestexpress.com
Ben Bochner is a songwriter who has roots in Chicago and branches in Oregon. He has worked as a tree-climber, videographer and as a rent-a-cop for Chinese funerals. He once wrote a book with Ken Kesey. Inspired by some of the great Chicago songwriters like John Prine and Steve Goodman, he has explored the storyteller topical writing mode. More at Ben Bochner’s facebook and myspace pages.

If you are looking for a new way to enter into a deep relationship with sacred Jewish texts and prayers, chanting may be just right for you!
Sinking into the tones and kavanah (intention) of a chant can open us to a new awareness of our connection to God that is powerful and transformative. Reb Zalman speaks of niggunim and chant as forming a Mikveh, a cleanse bath of sound to immerse oneself in.
Each of us, wherever we are on our spiritual journey, brings a unique and holy spark of energy to the chant circle. It is not about creating a choir of good voices. It is about creating a sacred place of intention for transformation.
Rabbi Shefa Gold describes chant as "building a mishkan; we’re building a sanctuary, a holy place, with our intention and with all the beauty we can bring to it. And then in the silence afterward we step into that mishkan that we have built and we receive God’s presence.” For more info visit www.RabbiShefaGold.com.
TENTATIVE 2012 UPCOMING DATE: Thurs., Mar. 22 but this may change.
Send me an email to lisakaye-chant(at)spiritpathnow.com if you would like to get updates about dates, times and locations for Lisa Kaye's Kol Zimra Chant Circles.
Lisa Kaye was raised in Reform Judaism where she was active organizing programs and bringing innovative services and seders to several synagogues and chavurot groups through the years. Four years ago she discovered Renewal Judaism and began the path of Rabbi Shefa Gold's Kol Zimra chant leadership training.

The Undefended Heart
with Louis Carosio
Fri. Evening, Feb. 24th and Sat., Feb. 25th 10-6 PM
In Bend Oregon
Please join as Louis brings his very popular Undefended Heart intensive to Bend Oregon. Engage a deep process of releasing ourselves from those places where we protect and defend the heart against others, and against life. This will be an expansion and a deepening of the first Undefended Heart seminars, with ample time for personal work. The Undefended Heart Intensive will provide a place to practice radical honesty regarding our story of the self, and the world. A place to realize that it is our thoughts and beliefs about our 'self' which cause us to protect, defend and suffer. In short, to come to know the real 'truth': you are not your story, and our narrow focus on that which obsures the expansive, uninhibited and brilliant awareness which is you.
Plus.... There will be special session of shamanic breathwork to further our opening.
The Undefended Heart intensive is once again being offered on a donation basis. However, to express your commitment to attend, there will be a $50 non-refundable registration deposit. There will be an opportunity for further donation at the intensive.
For more information or to register email lcarosio(at)comcast.net or call 541-687-2835.
Louis Carosio is a licensed psychologist and teacher and has been in private practice for over 30 years. Subsequent to completing his degree in clinical psychology, he has studied the integration of spirit and psychology through extensive training and experience in meditation, breath practices, body-mind therapies, energetic/spiritual healing and the spiritual quest. He is a long time practitioner of Buddhism and has taught meditation, breathwork, leads an array of spiritual retreats including an annual quest, The Dreamwalk. Together with his wife Trinity Harris (Ruthanne Carosio) he is founder of the Radiant Life Center and Pathways to Radiant Loving in Eugene, OR.

Benefit Yoga Class with Traditional Mbira Music!!
Friday, February 24th
7:30 to 9 PM
at Just Breathe - 2868 Willamette #200
Sliding Scale Donation: $5 to $20
Dave Curtis returns to Eugene to lead a class benefiting the Zimbabwe Community Development Project! This class will be suitable for all levels (though some prior Yoga experience is recommended.) Accompanying Dave will be the local mbira ensemble Mudzidzi who will be performing Zimbabwean music on traditional instruments. Mudzidzi has a direct lineage to the music of Zimbabwe and has a rich connection within the greater Eugene music scene via performances at the Oregon Country Fair and many cultural settings.
All proceeds from this class will benefit school children (many of whom are AIDS orphans) and teachers in Zimbabwe. Dave is very excited about this upcoming benefit class. He has had a long tradition of teaching Friday evening Yoga classes as well as sequencing his classes to live musical accompaniment. Our Hatha Yoga classes are taught by Rachelle Cornelius. Her classes are inspired by her 15 year background in dance and study of therapeutic movement, as well as the wisdom of Nature. In her classes, Rachelle intends to honor the body as a temple of the Divine through gentle, meditative flowing Yoga that unites movement, body, breath, and mind to find the stillness and balance within. Rachelle’s classes also encourage a deeper exploration within and beyond the asanas (physical postures) through integration of the 8 Limbs of Yogic Philosophy. Rachelle teaches a practice that is complimentary to all levels and welcomes each student’s unique Yoga and life journey.

Eckankar Community HU Sing
You are invited to experience an ECKANKAR Community HU, a Love Song to God, and a period of sacred contemplation. Regardless of your beliefs or religion, singing HU (pronounced like the word hue) can bring you greater happiness, love, and understanding.
All are welcome to this free event on
Sunday, February 26th at 10:00 – 10:30 am
ECKANKAR Center of Eugene, 2833C Willamette Street,
Eugene, OR (541) 343-2657
“HU is woven into the language of life. It is the Sound of all sounds. It is the wind in the leaves, falling rain, thunder of jets, singing of birds, the awful rumble of a tornado. Its sound is heard in laughter, weeping, the din of city traffic, ocean waves, and the quiet rippling of a mountain stream. And yet, the word HU is not God. It is a word people anywhere can use to address the Originator of Life.” - Sri Harold Klemp, Spiritual Leader of ECKANKAR, Religion of the Light and Sound of God

Transfiguration Ceremony
with Leia Hart, MS
February 26, 2012
(fourth Sunday of the month)
6:30 - 8:30 pm
During the practice of transfiguration, you allow your body and thoughts to dissolve until you are just spiritual light. From this place of radiance, healing with spiritual light for self, loved ones, community, and the planet is amplified as the group transfigures as one.
Please bring a small 4 oz jar of water. The water will be transfigured during the ceremony to 'holy water.' More will be explained as we prepare for the ceremony.
This is an open circle.
There will be a brief teaching before we begin for first timers.
May this season fill you with warmth and delight during this time of celebration and transformation!
Please call or email Leia Hart for location/directions.
