SEASON FOR NONVIOLENCE:
The purpose of the Season for Nonviolence is to demonstrate that each person is capable of moving the world in the direction of peace through daily nonviolent choices and actions. An international event, the Season for Nonviolence uses the 64 days between the memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. to foster an awareness of nonviolent principles and practice as a powerful way to heal, transform and empower our lives and communities. Through an educational, spiritual and community action campaign, we recognize nonviolence as a way to build a community that honors the dignity and worth of every human being.
Watch the SpiritPathNow online calendar for a variety of events, activities and gatherings will be offered during the 64 days. Information will be available at the Opening as well as on our website (www.laneinterfaithalliance.org). Offered at 7:00 pm at the Friends Meeting House at 2274 Onyx Street. The Dances of Universal Peace are simple circle dances with a focus on honoring all paths to the Divine. Each Dance is taught. All day Yoga for Haiti's children and orphans is benefit event in Eugene/Springfield area . It will be held on February 6th at GUY LEE ELEMENTARY school gym 755 Harlow Road. Springfeild, OR from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. Several Eugene's local best yoga teachers are volunteering their time to offer yoga sessions throughout the day. We invite you to join us. All proceeds will go to support the non-governmental organization, AMURT (Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team) stationed in Haiti for long time.
AMURT is an international yoga and relief organization which is run by yogic monks,nuns and locals. Suman Barkhas,who is local yoga and tai chi teacher, the coordinator of the event, has been a part of the educational department (ERAWS) of the group. The ERAWS is focused on teaching the science of yoga and meditation.

The Torah! Join us for five sessions of Shabbat afternoon learning as we study the arc of the Torah’s stories and structure from beginning to end. This is a chance to gain a foundational understanding of what’s in the Torah, our most sacred text. The class is ideal for people studying Judaism for the first time or as a refresher, but it also is designed for people with more Jewish background and experience who would like a more systematic understanding of what the Torah contains and how it is organized.

The first book of the Torah, Bereshit (Genesis), is full of exquisitely crafted stories about the first several generations of the Jewish people. Join Rabbi Maurice for five Sunday morning sessions of close textual readings of some of the essential stories of this ever-surprising book. Using specially designed Hebrew and English handouts of specific texts, we’ll discover how the text’s language and imagery draw us in to the lives of the matriarchs and patriarchs. You don’t need to read Hebrew to participate and enjoy this class, but if you do have some Hebrew skill you’ll have the chance to enjoy it in this way too.

This is the second in a series of ongoing workshops where you will learn more advanced Emotional Freedom Techniques "tapping" skills (on the second Wednesday of each month). This month's workshop will teach you some ways to clear many "aspects" of an issue. This workshop is open to anyone who knows the basic EFT tapping points. This series of workshops are perfect for you if you ever sit down to do EFT and get about 5 to 20 minutes into it and get stuck. Perhaps you feel unable to get to the core issue, you don't know what words to say or you are unsure if you have truly made a change.
Each workshop is on a different topic so it will be of benefit to you to go to all of them but they also are designed to be useful as stand alone workshops for those who only want to come once or a few times. I have made these workshops very affordable so that those in financial hardship can also attend.
These workshops will be very interactive and fun so please bring a willingness to engage and participate deeply as you will get out of the class what you put into it. (No need to RSVP) I look forward to seeing you there!

“The Uniting Power of Love” is about how we can put aside all emotions, agendas, etc. and bring the power of love which is not just an emotion but an attitude coming from the core of our being as a guiding light in relating to ourselves and all beings. The goal for the service is to find that expression in our respective faith traditions in the form of a prayer, song, sacred writing, story, etc.
