This Mahayana tradition of mental transformation was brought to Tibet in the 11th century by the great Indian teacher Atisha. It is cherished by all schools of Tibetan Buddhism and considered indispensable for one’s Dharma practice to bear fruit. Renowned for its universal and pragmatic approach, it gleans all of the Mahayana teachings to seven basic points and shows how to apply them to one’s life. Includes teaching, meditation, and discussion.

(Lama Sonam completed the three-year retreat under the guidance of Venerable Lama Tsang Tsing and serves as translator for him. Lama Sonam is a Eugenian with training in the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.)

While Borders are not stocking her book, they are providing a space for a book talk and Susan will be bringing a supply of books to Borders the night of the event if you want to purchase one.  If she runs out, she'll give you a discount code to order it online and that will, at least, help to offset the cost of postage.

Just being with Susan will be a deep spiritual, enlightening and delightful treat.  Her book shares her experiences, one of which is having had issues with organized religion and a search for a more feminine spiritual ideal. Her book also traces the purpose, experiences and healings of her "Let's give it all up and move to Mexico" journey with her husband Larry.

It will be our same format for deep contemplative prayer and reflection but with an added voice to sweeten our harmonies and build an even greater depth to our chants.

Insomnia, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome are a triumvirate of chronic conditions that often occur together. In this presentation, Matthew will discuss how these illnesses develop, why they often occur together, and how to treat them with the tools of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including diet and exercise as well as acupuncture and herbs.

This Mahayana tradition of mental transformation was brought to Tibet in the 11th century by the great Indian teacher Atisha. It is cherished by all schools of Tibetan Buddhism and considered indispensable for one’s Dharma practice to bear fruit. Renowned for its universal and pragmatic approach, it gleans all of the Mahayana teachings to seven basic points and shows how to apply them to one’s life. Includes teaching, meditation, and discussion.

In the Tibetan word shi-nay, shi means calm and nay means abiding. Shi-nay meditation rests the mind in a state undisturbed by thoughts and emotions, allowing the mind to experience its true nature. Lama Sonam will give instructions, guide a meditation session, and answer questions. This meditation is appropriate for anyone interested in the path that unites wisdom and compassion.

In the Tibetan word shi-nay, shi means calm and nay means abiding. Shi-nay meditation rests the mind in a state undisturbed by thoughts and emotions, allowing the mind to experience its true nature. Lama Sonam will give instructions, guide a meditation session, and answer questions. This meditation is appropriate for anyone interested in the path that unites wisdom and compassion.

(Lama Sonam completed the three-year retreat under the guidance of Venerable Lama Tsang Tsing and serves as translator for him. Lama Sonam is a Eugenian with training in the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.)

Hello to the Beautiful Sacred Circle of Eugene and Surrounding Communities!  Spring is in full bloom now, and we are about half way through our Great Rites of Enlightenment series.  I want to remind everyone that we will not have a fire in May, but will finish the series with fires at 7 pm on Thursday, June 17th.   We hope that you will come and join the energy and personal growth experience of them.  Wear layers of clothing to stay warm outside as the sun goes down.  Bring a rattle.

No matter where you are in the process of Rites, you are welcome and will be able to continue forward.

*Directions to 2089 Graham Dr., Eugene - take Chambers out to the flashing light at 28th, turn right one block to Garfield, and go left up the steep hill.  You'll "T" onto Graham Dr. Turn right, we are the last house on the right.

(These are part of a series of 5 Fire Ceremonies being offered since March.  Open to the Community.  We will offer 2 Rites per night, giving a brief over view of them.  You will be able to use fire to help the Rites take root and grow.  With the 5 Fire Ceremonies,  you can receive all 9 Rites by June.  We will gathering at 6:45, with the fires starting at 7 pm.  The dates for the Fire Ceremonies are:  March 20, April 3 and 13, and June 3 and 17.)
