Join us at 7 pm for a wonderful service for healing and wholeness. This service is from the tradition of the Taizé spiritual community in France . The heart of the service is the singing and the music which unite all people in common prayer. The laying on of hands is symbolic of spiritual blessing flowing from one person to another and is done for those who wish it during the service. All are welcome to join in the circle of healing.

What is the UNICEF Tap Project?
In 2007, the UNICEF Tap Project was born in New York City based on a simple concept: restaurants would ask their patrons to donate $1 or more for the tap water they usually enjoy for free, and all funds raised would support UNICEF’s efforts to bring clean and accessible water to millions of children around the world.
UNICEF has saved more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization, and UNICEF is committed to doing whatever it takes to achieve the goal of reaching zero preventable deaths. Currently, UNICEF provides access to safe water and sanitation facilities while promoting safe hygiene practices in more than 90 countries. By 2015, UNICEF's goal is to reduce the number of people without safe water and basic sanitation by 50 percent.

Tales of the Hasidim - Fall 2009

This year Ad Olam's class will be focusing on the tales of the Hassidim, with particular emphasis on the founder of modern Hassidism, the Baal Shem Tov and his great grandson, Rebbe Nachman of Breslov. In the stories and the music of the people, one discovers the soul of that People, so in addition to our readings and discussions of the tales, we will also be learning the niggunim, the special melodies from that time and place in Europe - before the Shoah - - and from our time as well.
While we are emphasizing these two Masters, we will also be partaking of the wellspring of insight and inspiration from Nobel Peace Award winner, Elie Wiesel, in his marvelous work, Souls on Fire: Portraits and Legends of Hassidic Masters.

This is a free practitioner and student gathering. Open to anyone who already has any level of Reiki attunement or training.
Held at the Downtown LCC location, at 1059 Willamette ST. Room 40, that is the lower level Massage Training Room. CEUs are available through this event by attendance and registration. The Circle is facilitated by LCC Reiki Masters/Teachers Laura Magpali and Paul Nelson, with a focused introduction and guided Meditation for conscious, aware personal energy practices lead by Reiki Master/Energy Healer Patti Leahy.
Preregistration with LCC is appreciated, though not required, drop ins are welcome . This may be done on-line if you are already a student, or by phone, calling LCC at 463-5252 and referencing CRN# 22757 for the Saturday Reiki Circle.
