meeting at the First Christian Church,

The theme this month focuses on a wide range of presentations of Sacred Music practiced by the many traditions from faith communities in Eugene.
INTERFAITH PRAYER SERVICE INTERNATIONAL invites all community members on the 11th of every month to celebrate the oneness in our diversity through prayers, chants, readings from sacred texts and many other forms that come from the teachings and traditions of our participating presenters
For more info visit www.interfaithprayer.org
(Note from SpiritPathNow.... These Interfaith Prayer Services have brought over 100 monthly services to the Eugene community since its beginning after 9/11 in 2001. Over these 9 years the services have introduced thousands of attendees to the diverse spiritual communities that make up Eugene. All of this has been done without asking for any regular financial support from the community or from organizations that are invited to present on behalf of their faith communities. If your faith community would like to participate and support the continuation of these services for the next decade, SpiritPathNow encourages you to become involved as a participant, a donor or a sponsor. Visit www.InterfaithPrayer.org for more information.)

Join us as we explore the characters of Miriam, Jocheved, Shifra and Puah as they are portrayed in the Bible and the Babylonian Talmud. Through close text study we will uncover how the early Rabbis elaborate and transform these women for their contemporary audience. We will also seek to regain these characters as female role models for our own “Exodus” at this year’s Seder table.
Nitzan Deborah Stein-Kokin holds an MA in Jewish Civilization from Hebrew University with a focus on early rabbinic literature. She is also a graduate of the Moshe Green Beit Midrash for Women’s Leadership in Jerusalem where she studied Talmud and early Midrash.
